What are my goals for Year 1?
-
Learn about the concepts and tools of the quality
improvement process
-
Choose a quality improvement project and metric(s)
How can I achieve these goals?
-
The way in which you decide to learn about quality
improvement is up to you. You can complete
self-directed reading, attend courses (local,
national or online), or complete Quality
Self-Assessment Modules. The American Board of
Radiology (ABR) has no requirements on what should
comprise the learning process.
-
Choosing a practice quality improvement project and
measurement metric is, similarly, entirely up to
you. The ABR puts no limits on what you would like
to do as long as it falls under the broad categories
of patient safety, accuracy of interpretation,
report turnaround time, practice guidelines and
technical standards, or referring physician surveys.
We do, however, have some handy projects for you to
use, just in case.
