Frequently Asked Questions

What are you charging for this awesome service?

  • Nothing. We run this this site ourselves, so please be patient with minor glitches. All of the expenses (site construction & maintenance, plus content development) are being personally paid for by a radiologist with lifetime ABR certification. This supports the theory that academic medicine is an inborn error of metabolism. If you are feeling philanthropic too, please Donate!

Are you permanently archiving all this information and promising to run this site forever?

  • Forever is a long time. It is each diplomat’s responsibility to keep a written or electronic copy of the work they did using this site. We will run this site for as long as we have funds.
  • We are saving your submitted data in case something catastrophic happens to your personal records, but don’t bet your Board Certification on it. After all, you get what you pay for.

How did you choose the topics for your quality improvement projects?

  • We choose projects that are clinically relevant and applicable to most radiology practices. The easy answer to this rather broad question was to use patient safety goals developed by The Joint Commission.

Why do you want the data from each project submitted to a larger national database?

  • The ABR and RadiologyQuality.com enthusiastically support your voluntary reporting of data to appropriate national registries where available. The ACR is setting up extraordinary national data registries (NRDR). Some of these are very subspecialty specific (Carotid Artery Stenting, Coronary CTA) but other metrics in the General Radiology Improvement Database (GRID) are more broadly applicable, like the projects contained in this site.
  • If there are no pertinent national data registries or if you don't have the funds to pay their fees - no worries, we have a database that will allow you to compare your results to others. But really, submit your stuff to the ACR. Please. There's power in numbers.

What's with the funky letters and numbers in the web address bar?

  • It turns out that a bunch of people refuse "cookies" and since we don't want to deal with endless tech support on this, we are able to save unique sessions this way when you enter data.

How can I help?

  • OK, no one has ever actually asked that question. But just in case that crossed your mind, we need feedback to make the content of this site effective and easy to use. Or donations would work too. Did I mention donations?
