Frequently Asked Questions

What are you charging for this awesome service?

  • Nothing. You are Beta testing this site, so please give feedback and be patient with minor glitches. All of the expenses (building the site, developing the content, running the site) are being personally paid for by an over-motivated radiologist with a lifetime certificate. This supports the theory that academic medicine is an inborn error of metabolism.

Are you permanently archiving all this information and promising to run this site forever?

  • Forever is a long time. It is each diplomat’s responsibility to keep a written or electronic copy of the work they did using this site.
  • We will run this site for as long as we have funds. We have personally committed to 10 years of web support.
  • We are saving your submitted data in case something catastrophic happens to your personal records, but don’t bet your Board Certification on it. After all, you get what you pay for.

How did you choose the topics for your quality improvement projects?

  • We choose projects that are clinically relevant and applicable to most radiology practices. The easy answer to this rather broad question was to use patient safety goals developed by The Joint Commission.

Why do you want the data from each project submitted to a larger national database?

  • The ABR and RadiologyQuality.com enthusiastically support your voluntary reporting of data to appropriate national registries where available. The ACR is setting up extraordinary national data registries (NRDR). Some of these are very subspecialty specific (Carotid Artery Stenting, Coronary CTA) but other metrics under development for the General Radiology Improvement Database (GRID) should be more in line with the more broadly applicable projects covered on this site.
  • If there are no pertinent national data registries or you don't have the spare cash to pay the fees to submit to them - no worries, we have a database that will allow you to compare your results to others. But really, submit your stuff to the ACR. Please.

What's with the funky letters and numbers in the web address bar?

  • It turns out that a bunch of people refuse "cookies" and since we don't want to deal with endless tech support on this, we are able to save unique sessions this way when you enter data.

How can I help?

  • We need feedback to make the content of this site effective and easy to use. Any additional ASP.NET functionality you'd like to have integrated is much appreciated. Talk to us via support@radiologyquality.com.
